Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for your continued interest and engagement in our University’s Strategic Planning process. I would like to update you on the current status of our planning process and our next steps.

Tom Lewis ’74, ’76 M.S., ’05 Hon., University of New Haven alumnus and former member of the Board of Governors, has offered to volunteer his time as an external facilitator and consultant for our strategic planning process. Tom, who is the former CEO of Ameritrade and served during the Reagan administration as Chief Technology Officer for the White House, has a distinguished career in business leadership and change management. Tom is engaging us in his consultancy to use design thinking and ideation to identify key strategic initiatives for the University in the next 3-5 years.

As part of this effort, we have expanded our participants in the Strategic Planning process to include 15 additional faculty and staff who will take part in Tom’s strategic planning process during the next month. They include:

  • Bruno Barreto de Góes, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Management

While this activity is underway, we also continue to ask for your input. Transformational strategic initiative ideas can be submitted anonymously on the Strategic Planning website. As strategic initiatives are identified, the Steering Committee will share these with the University community on our website and ask for feedback. In addition, I will be holding a town hall meeting in mid-May for an update and Q&A session.

Thank you again for your commitment to this important initiative.

With best wishes,
Steve
